Senior Pastor

Dave Miller

Our Senior Pastor, Dave Miller, grew up in Cedar Rapids, the son of one of the first Southern Baptist pastors in Iowa.  His family spent four years as missionaries in Taiwan, and then settled in Florida.  Dave attended Palm Beach Atlantic College where he met his wife Jenni and graduated with a B.A. in Communications.  He then attended Dallas Seminary before he transferred to Southwestern Baptist Seminary and graduated with a M.Div. in 1981.  He has four children.   

Dave was a youth pastor in Tequesta, Fl, for five years.  He then served as a pastor in Virginia for 4 years, before returning to Cedar Rapids, where he pastored Northbrook Baptist Church for over 14 years.  He came to Southern Hills in 2005.  Dave’s ministry focuses on expository Bible preaching.  

Associate Pastor 

Bob Dillman

Bob Dillman is our Associate Pastor, focusing on Church Education, administration, and pastoral care.  He gives oversight to our active Upward Sports ministry as well.  Bob grew up in Oxford, Ohio and was a farmer for nine years before God redirected him into ministry.  He graduated from Clear Creek Baptist Bible College in 1993 and from Southwestern Seminary in 1999.  He came to Southern Hills after graduation.  Bob is married to Linda and has four children.   

Youth Pastor

Si Cochran

Si Cochran serves as our Youth Pastor.  He is also involved in college/career, evangelism/outreach, and prayer ministries of the church.  Si received his B.A. in Religious Studies from Missouri State University, where he studied world religions and new religious movements.  Si also holds a M.Div. in the School of Theology from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Expositional Preaching at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Si grew up in southern Missouri, where he met Anna, his wife of nine years.  They have two sons.

Phyllis Pennington is our administrative assistant and has worked for Southern Hills Baptist since 2004.
